Isn't it funny that I never owned a flat iron or any kind of hair straightener in my life until I went to college. I guess that most of us probably didn't. That is why it is such a shock to me that I really feel I can't live without one. Last week my flat iron died. The light turns on but it won't heat up. So... I thought I'd try a few days without it. Hated it. I'm off to get my new flat iron today.
Funny what we feel we cannot live without. Here are a few more things that I haven't always had around that I don't think I could live without.
1) My cell phone (disgusting, I know)
2)baby wipes (They are just super handy for everything)
3)the internet (I don't have it at my house, but I still have occasional access to it)
I started to make a list of the other things I wouldn't like to live without but it got ridiculous because I didn't know where to stop. Of course, I really probably could live without some of my necessary items if I needed to. Anyway, I just feel really blessed to have so many nice things to help make my life more comfortable. What would you hate to live without?

I remember well the day we wed...
Today is our anniversary. Justin and I have been married for three wonderful years and I can't believe it has gone by so fast. I was thinking today about how I have several days throughout the year that I like to celebrate having Justin in my life. The day we met, our first date, deciding to date seriously, valentine's day, getting engaged, and getting married. I also feel that gratitude from day to day and am so grateful to have Justin as a best friend and sweetheart. I love you, honey. (p.s. Gracie started calling Justin "Honey" this last week because that's what she always hears me call him).

Scared to tears
Well, sorry for the absence. I've been having a nice time in Pine Valley and have been amazed at the different ways that I use my time when blogging is not an option. I take naps, read, go on long walks, and sometimes I even clean my house :) It's an eye opener to me of all the things I could have been getting done, but I still love coming back to the blogging world.
The other day I decided to make pancakes for Gracie (Justin had to leave before they were ready). I pulled out a measuring cup from the dish rack in the sink. A huge spider was in the cup (or maybe it was a small spider...it's hard to remember a specific size). I screamed and dropped the cup and the spider crawled out onto the kitchen floor. Gracie began to cry but I didn't have time to comfort her yet, as the spider was still at large in the kitchen. I grabbed paper towels and went to kill the spider. I pushed down and as I lifted the paper towels up, the spider started to run again. I screamed again, Gracie cried harder. Finally, I got the spider, and as I picked up Gracie, I started crying too. I guess the adrenaline from the scary experience just sent me over the top. Justin was just getting ready to leave for work but was probably glad that he could witness a little drama before he left :)
