I am really loving the fact that Gracie and I can have conversations now. She is getting to be a lot of fun and I love hearing her vocabulary and speech improve. Some of the things she says don't really seem "blog worthy" but I'm hoping not to forget them. It is also funny to see the things that Justin and I probably say all the time repeated by her. I find it amusing to watch Gracie play with her dolls and tell them the rules of the house. The other day she even reminded me to get back in the kitchen with something I was eating. Here are some of Gracie's latest gems.
#1)Maggie: We're going to go visiting teaching in a minute
Gracie: That sounds like fun
#2) Maggie overhears Gracie in the bathroom
Gracie: Is it cold, Gracie? (Maggie peeks in and sees Gracie perched on the toilet dipping her toe in the icy toilet water :)).
#3)Gracie (on the way home from a friend's house): How 'bout, I take a nap?
#4)Justin (holding up a pair of slacks he's never worn to church): Hey Maggie, Can I wear these to church?
Maggie: Yeah, they look nice
Gracie (makes entrance from other room to see Justin): Uhhh, probably you can't wear those
Justin: Why not?
Gracie: Probably they don't match
(BTW- he really did match)
#5) Gracie is getting really good at retelling stories we tell her at night. My favorite story to hear her tell is about the time Justin's dog, Patches, got lost.

Snow Galore
This morning we went outside into the snow to go to preschool for Gracie (we do a joy school type thing with some friends from our other ward). The roads were terrible. Snow was blowing and falling quickly. At one point we were driving up College Avenue. I noticed an old green truck driving next to us with the window down. It totally took me back to my high school days. I had a Gold Mitsubishi 1/4 ton pick-up. It really worked great for me most of the time, but on snowy mornings I would have to roll my window down just like the green truck I saw. The defroster didn't work quickly enough and my windows would fog like crazy.
I especially remember the mornings as a Senior in high school that my brother Tom would drive us to early morning seminary. We were often running late and we would scrape off the driver's side but not the whole passenger side. Dangerous? I know, and it was always really scary as the passenger not being able to see where we were going :)
Anyway, since I had already loaded the kids in the car,I picked up Justin and drove him across campus to his class and then called to cancel for preschool. The roads were so bad that I started to wonder if we'd be stranded if we went over to my friend's house if the snow continued to fall. So much for pre-school, grocery shopping, and other errands. We are happy to be safe and warm at home. It is always fun to have a good excuse to snuggle on the couch, drink cocoa, and read books.

Average
(Gunner with Grandma Gardner- I love his little smile)
We went to the doctor on Tuesday morning. Gunner had his 2 month well child check-up.
weight= 13.0
Height=23.5
It turns out that his head circumference, height, and weight are all middle of the road 50th percentile. I guess that means he's normal. REALLY NORMAL. :)
We took off Gunner's diaper just before he was weighed. I got him all cleaned off and just when I turned to look at the nurse he started peeing all over. I guess that he wanted to be a little lighter for the big weigh in. Can you blame him?
Gunner did well with the immunizations. Gracie wanted some Tylenol and I told her that the medicine was for people who are getting shots. Pretty soon she started begging for shots. Today she saw the bottle of Tylenol and started asking for shots again. What a cutie.

We heart Utah!!!
We just got back from a trip to Utah to visit our families. It was so great to see everyone and we had a lot of fun. Justin had his spring break last week and we thought we would take advantage of his time off. Part of me wants to do 5 posts to catch up, but I think I'm better off not to really catch up from before I left. I'll just try to be better from here on out. Some of the highlights of our trip were...
*Seeing our parents and all of our siblings (except for my brother Bob, and we will see him tonight!).
*Meeting two new, beautiful nieces, Isabel and Olivia
* Justin blessing Gunner and my brother Jim blessing Isabel (we did the blessings in my parent's home)
*Seeing loved ones in Saint George and Salt Lake
* Family Pictures (I'll post them as soon as I get them)
* Gunner growing like a weed (He goes to the doctor tomorrow and I can't wait to weigh him).
* Gracie playing with cousins galore. She had so much fun.
* An Irish dinner on St. Pattie's day
Gunner and Isabel on their blessing day. I made his little suit-part of the reason why I disappeared from blogging a few weeks before we left.
Gunner and Olivia. I love that they were wearing blue and pink.
Tillie and Gracie on Buddy in St. George. We met up with Mary and Seth on their way to Disneyland.
Lizzie, Maddie, and Gracie doing dance performances in St. George.Justin, Me, Flori and Mary. He jumped into our sister's picture :)
My parents at our St. Patrick's day dinner.
Maggie and Gracie at the baby blessing. (I'll have to post more pictures of the blessing when I get my hands on them).
Gracie and her cousins at the park.
