Lovin' the snow

Today, during preschool, the girls went out to play in the snow. I could only get 2 of 4 to pose for the camera. They sure had fun chasing Miley around (poor Miley never makes the blog...maybe I'll dedicate a post to her soon).

He can't walk yet...

But he can climb with the best of them. These are all pictures from the last few days. I've been keeping my camera close by to try and capture some of these amazing stunts. I want you all to know, that almost every pose was tried MULTIPLE times. I think we will have to rearrange the furniture soon. My one disclaimer is that he had a water container to help him get onto the chair and then onto the kitchen counter (thank goodness that was easy to move- after he climbed up there 10 times).

"Spiderman, spiderman..."

Gunner has learned how to climb up on the bathroom counter, so if we don't leave the door closed, I tend to find him up in the sink- usually brushing his teeth.

One year

One year old stats:
Height : 30 inches (65th percentile)
Weight:21 lbs. (20th percentile)

I can't believe that Gunner is growing right up on us. We love him so much and he is such a joy to have in our family. I love his little staple remover teeth, his still barely growing hair, his kisses, the ever amazing climbing stunts, the fake crying, the giggles galore, and I don't know if there has ever been someone that I enjoy tickling as much as I do him (he is ticklish all over). We love you, Gunner!

Celebrate good times... again

Our friends invited us over for a 1 year shared birthday party with Gunner's friend Asher, who is 5 days younger. My friend, Becca, made this awesome cake. Gunner acted like an old pro at eating cake, and Asher caught on soon enough. This family is really fun because our kids are pretty close to the same age. Gracie and Riley (Asher's sister) had fun chasing balloons and playing in Riley's play kitchen.

Enjoying the cake

Good thing we started early. The birthday boys were DONE for the night at about 7pm :)

The forgotten presents

It was like Christmas again when we got home! We had forgotten to bring a couple of presents with us. Lucky for us, we got to give Gunner's Christmas present to him for his birthday instead :), and Gracie had a little something to open so she wouldn't feel left out.

I made a little family/cousin book for the kids to look at during church or whenever.

The Birthday Boy in Billings

Gunner's first birthday came while we were in Billings visiting Justin's parents. We had a great time and Carol Ann made this great cake. I helped a little at the end, but she really deserves the credit.

Tour de Rexburg- For Meg and Rin

We were blessed to visit Justin's sister Kellie and her family in Rexburg. We had a great couple of days and the time went way too fast. Kellie is a super mom and gave me all kinds of inspiration. The only sad part is that we were so busy having fun I did not snap a single picture of Kellie and Will, their cute house, their cute kids, or anything...except the tour de Rexburg that I took Justin on.

WARNING*** This post may not be exciting to anyone but people who have lived in Rexburg or gone to school there. You can skip this if you want.

Ten years ago, this year, I moved to a foreign town, to live with foreign people, in a frozen tundra. We lived at Royal Crest and had more fun than should be allowed (even without flip flops, overalls, or boys past 10pm). I'll spare you proof of the fun, but indulge me on a walk down memory lane.

I was just bursting with nostalgia as we drove down the streets of Rexburg. This is me by the door to Craigo's pizza (at a new location since I was there). I was going to take Justin there for lunch, but they were closed, due to a power outage in the whole city. "And this is where I gained my freshman 15."Justin was a good sport and I had a great time explaining about life in Rexburg.
Maggie:There's Broulim's, Marinda always had to drive me there because I didnt' have a car.
Justin:You didn't have a car? How did you ever come home?
Maggie: I drove with Megan and Marinda. How else would I know ALL the words to the Morgan High school song?
(thanks Marinda and Meg)

Justin in front of Dr.Will's clinic. Our brother in law works in St. Anthony as a doctor. We got a tour of the clinic (in the dark- the electricity was still out).

The beautiful Rexburg temple.

New Year's Day- St. George Style

If you're following our posts very closely or new much about our travel plans, you'll realize that we found ourselves in all kinds of locations over our almost month long break. I like to call it our tour of the Western U.S. (Fort Collins, SLC, St. George, SLC, Rexburg, Billings, Fort Collins OR Colorado, Utah, Idaho, Montana, Wyoming, Colorado). I guess if we had planned just a little better, we could have added Arizona and Nevada because SG is so close to the border.

On New Year's day we went hiking up on the fenceline by The Ledges golf course and looked for golf balls. I didn't get a picture of the end result, but it was fun to do something outdoors and be with people we love.
The bottom picture here is missing the other part of the group- Justin and I went to pick up the truck and meet the group at the bottom so we missed the other group picture with Carrie, Lizzie, Maddie, and CJ.

MIA

Sorry, we've been missing from the blogging world. We are coming back today though. Stay tuned for multiple posts.
