I started off this year with a goal to craft more and to finish at least one project each month. I didn't think it would be a problem, seeing how I had about 5 million unfinished projects in my sewing closet. I did a few things and then made some bows for a baby shower. At the baby shower my friends kept telling me that I needed to sell my stuff and so I started making a few things.
Anyway, it has been slow in coming, but this (Paisley Pony) is my new business. I love that the name kind of echos the name of my sister flori's shop, Calico Birdie, because she is one of my great crafting inspirations. I'm selling clips and other handmade gifts as an outlet for my creativity and for something to bring in some extra income.
Today I found a local store who wants to carry some of our (I'm doing this with my friend, Natalie) clips and binky holders. Anyway, we are working to get a website up and will soon have some more fun stuff. It is kind of funny to be here in Colorado because people seem to go nuts for all of the handmade things that Utah is saturated with and you don't really see things like this here.
Super cute headbands with flower and leaf detail.
My adorable model.
This is a bag that I finished making after almost 2 years of sitting in my closet.

My new workout
I've really been wanting to try out a new workout video since the first of the year. My sweatin' to the oldie's tape disappeared after an fhe workout with my football player fhe brothers at Rick's (coincidence, I think not- it was for sure more fun than football drills). My tae bo tape disappeared when I went on my mission, and it left me with Paula Abdul's "Get up and Dance".
I actually really like Paula's workout, but considering that I bought the tape (yes, it is a VHS) almost 10 years ago, I was ready for a change. Well, Jillian delivered. I just ordered "Banish Fat, Boost Metabolism" from amazon with my swagbucks. So, I pretty much got it free (including shipping) The video came in the mail yesterday, and I did it this morning. Hooray for a new workout and changing things up a bit!!! What is your favorite workout?
On another note-I love swagbucks and it was really fun to redeem my first prize. My next goal is to hopefully save enough to buy our Christmas this year. (Swagbucks is a search engine that pays you to do normal searches that you would do anyway. I have a referral button on my sidebar if you want to join too- or you can ask me if you have any questions about it). Sorry for the solicitation, but this is something that I think is so great.

Home Again
We got home on Saturday with some time to spare before BYU played. Too bad they didn't win. The end of basketball season is always kind of sad for some people in our house :( (that sounded kind of funny. I'm not a basketball hater or anything. I just don't really watch the games much, so can't really claim to be sad when it is all over).
Father and son watching the game. The snow storm that hit two days ago. It was crazy, but then melted really fast- I can already see my green grass in the backyard.
Spring Break
(Gunner in one of Justin's old outfits)
Justin had the week off of school last week for Spring Break. We decided to head to Utah. We drove over I-80, stayed the night in Salt Lake, then Justin headed to sunny skies down in Dixie and I stayed for a visit with my parents and family. Justin worked with his brother, Jeff, and they also got to sneak over to Las Vegas to watch BYU play. We played with cousins, went on walks, went to the park, went swimming, and just had fun.
Olivia (Joe and Carrie's), Isabel (Jim and Luci's) and Gunner after Sunday dinner at my mom's. These three are born almost within the same month. They are all so cute.
Jim brought over a dance cam and you can't imagine the chaos that ensued. Those kids had a lot of fun watching themselves dance and do fancy tricks.
Birthday lunch with the girls. We missed you, Flori.Gunner and Gracie on St. Pattie's day. Anyone else have trouble getting your kids to pose?
Luci with Gunner and Isabel. I am so jealous of Isabel's gorgeous curly locks. Aren't they beautiful? Gunner's little bit of hair looks curly when he gets out of the bath- especially in the bath. I'm excited to see if he has curly hair.
Gunner with Jess (she should be having her baby this week- another boy).Gracie's first bowling experience. All the kids loved rolling the ball down the little ramp. Kudos to the person who thought that one up so I didn't have to hold my breath and see if my child was going to put a hole in the floor.

Early Springtime at our house
(Gracie and her friend Riley)
March has been a lot of fun around here. We just got back from a trip to Utah for spring break and will post pictures soon, but wanted to catch up on these pictures from the first part of March.
We went to the fire station a couple of times (once for pre-school and once for an open house). This is Gracie with her pre-school buddies at the fire station with their cute fireman hats.
These are the nice firemen who showed them around. The girls were all mesmerized by the firemen and we didn't hear much out of them while we were there (Only Gracie's friend, Emma, on the far right, was answering questions). But... we heard about fire men so much the next week that I decided to take Gracie back for the open house (and Gunner wanted a hat).
Isn't he cute? He has been wearing that hat all over the place (and every other hat he can get his hands on). It is so fun to see parts of his personality emerging more and more.
One of my favorite things lately, is that I can get Gunner to giggle at me from across the room if I start to laugh. It is too much fun.
