Month of Love
Can you believe that Gunner is almost 6 weeks old? Time flies. He is changing right before our eyes and I'm thrilled to report that we got our first smile out of him this week. I have also been very pleased that Gunner started sleeping in 4 hour stretches at night, which is really helpful. Gunner has grown out of a lot of his "newborn" size clothes and is enjoying making a fashion statement with his cute little wardrobe (or maybe his mom loves dressing him up and he doesn't care...can't remember). Most of the pictures speak for themselves, but I love the bottom middle picture when I caught him yawning :)
Gracie is doing well. I had a stroke of genius about a week and a half ago and decided that I should just potty train Gracie to make my life a little easier. How hard can it be, right? Well, she isn't potty trained and I might have to go back to her regular diapers, but I did try some cheap pull-ups this weeks. We're making some progress (she can now change her own wet diapers, even though she isn't going in the toilet- How is that for being a self-sufficient 2 year old?). I'd love any potty training advice or better yet, any potty training volunteers :)
Justin is busy with school and had several tests, assignments and projects due this last week. I have also been busy, trying to pick up a few projects that I've put to the side. It is nice to feel like things are getting a little bit back to "normal" and some days it feels like we're coming out of survial mode (Don't be too fooled,we're still there quite a bit). That's about it right now for us.

pretty cute! I love the smile. I think Gunner is looking less and less like Gracie even though there are lots of similarities. Thanks for sending on some new pictures. How can one Grandma have so many cute grandchildren. Love you. Mom
Mag--potty training is no fun. I am not a fan (even though Cares was way easier than Bentley...) For my kids I just dove right into full time underwear except for during naps or the night and that way the pee in the undies feels way different and very uncomfortable. They learned quickly that they didn't like to "go" in their big kid undies. And I believe in rewards every time they go in the potty for the first week and then go for long term goals with sticker charts.
And your babe is a darling tiny cowboy!!
Such cute pictures of the little guy! I love the one of Gracie & Justin in their hats as well. I hope you enjoyed the holiday! You always go all out on Valentine's day.:) Love you and miss you!
Maggie....so cute, I love your blog it keeps us connected even though we're miles apart.
First of all, Gunner is a cutie! Love the pictures! And secondly, good luck with potty training. I did that back in November and our experience with it wasn't too bad, but it was rough for a while there. And then she reverted for about a week and half after the baby was born. But now she is doing great again. There's a book that I read that was very helpful called "Toilet Train in Less than a Day." I wrote all about my potty training experience on my blog if you want to read up on it. The first post was called "Pink Princess Potty Party."
You look so cute! Love the sling picture. And the yawning shot is a good one too. Your little cowboy family is so fun to watch grow!
Lots of cute pictures!!
Gunner is growing up to fast! How fun that he is already smiling..isn't that the best? My advice about potty training is that once you start, don't go back. She'll get it and it's usually a stinky, messy process for a little while whether you do it now or later. Oh the Joys! Good Luck!
Very cute pictures! It's good to hear that you have time to pick up on some projects again. That always makes me feel good when I can have something to work on to.
