The Funeral

**A big thanks to my SIL Carrie (Joe's wife). I stole these pictures off of her blog.
All of my cousins that sang at the funeral- "Be still my soul"

The funeral was a beautiful celebration of the life that my grandma lived. She was so amazing in so many ways and had so many who loved and adored her. I have so many cousins on my mom's side of the family and it felt wonderful to be around my Aunts, Uncles, and Cousins and experience what wonderful people they all are too and how much I love all of them. Another thing you miss when you live away.  We had a hard time during practice not bursting into tears. We had to joke, "Try not to think about the message of the song or why we're here".

"Be still my soul, when change and tears are past, all safe and blessed we shall meet at last."

I can't wait for that happy reunion on the other side when I get to see her again and hear her happy laugh (one of my favorite memories of her).

My grandma was a CPA. One of the stories that I hadn't heard was of my brother Bob getting his MAC (Master's in Accounting) from BYU. One of his professors told him, "You need to know this stuff well enough that you could explain it to your grandma." Bob just laughed because my grandma was completely brilliant and she could probably explain it to him better than he could to her:)

I know I've mentioned living away a lot in my last few posts. Do you think coming home made me just a little homesick? It was a tender mercy for us to be able to be there for the funeral.  I know we only live 7 hours away in Colorado, but it was a blessing that it happened while I was there and that I had time to be with my parents and all 7 of my wonderful siblings. It was a blessing that Justin was there. It is amazing to me, how much Justin's presence does to calm my soul. I love him.

Such nice tributes to your grandma! I'm so glad that you were able to spend some special time with her before she passed away.
